I feel like the owner is severely at fault for A) not sedating them like they did last time & B) for letting matting get THAT bad. Matting is a sign of neglectful hygiene

Those are “ornamental” cats. They were probably purchased because they’re beautiful and then not played with or groomed to be desensitized. They get fed and roam.

my cat hated being groomed... the only person that could do anything was my mum... guess what ..her coat was beautiful...she had healthy teeth...and perfectly clipped claws.

This is so weird to me.. i’ve owned multiple cats, some long haired and some not, i could brush their fur all the time and they enjoyed it, im not saying that every cat is the same because that’s obviously not true, but if someone buys a long haired cat they SHOULD be brushing their fur as often as they can, otherwise why get a long haired cat if you’re gonna put it in danger and let the cat walk around looking like a mess? that’s the same like not brushing humans hair for weeeeeks and then being suprised when they’re a suddenly huge matting, its expected when you have long haired cat AND short hair. Just brush your cats fur, it cannot be that hard.

this big lump of fluff had been poked and prodded since he was a baby. I forced baths and nail trims, played with his feet, brushing ect since he was a kitten. he hated grooming but he tolerated it because as his owner I made sure he was used to being touched in every way he hated.
