IN 1962 IT WAS ANNOUNCED THAT A CHANGE IN SIZE, DESIGN AND METAL CONTENT OF COINS WAS BEING CONSIDERED. THIS WAS PRIMARILY DUE TO THE INCREASE IN THE PRICE OF SILVER.
