@picklerickursion: Your drive has been keeping a report card since the day it was built. 💾 The quick look:Get-PhysicalDisk | Select-Object FriendlyName, MediaType, HealthStatus The real one:Get-PhysicalDisk | Get-StorageReliabilityCounter Power-on hours, read errors, write errors, temperature, wear. Windows has read this the whole time and shows you none of it until the machine stops booting. How to actually use it: ・Write today's numbers down. Run it again in a month. A single reading tells you nothing. A climbing read-error count is the warning ・HealthStatus: Healthy means nothing has tripped yet, not that the drive is fine ・Wear is blank on a lot of consumer drives. No number means no data, not a good result. Do not panic and do not assume ・None of this replaces having your files in a second place Two years of power-on hours is normal. Read errors that grew since last month are not 👻 link in bio. Fan-made parody. NOT affiliated with Adult Swim or Warner Bros. Just use CrystalDiskInfo, it doesnt wear your drive, reads the S.M.A.R.T data, this is what they're doing but way more complex, you can just use CrystalDiskInfo.
