Wait I lowkey might have a valid theory/insight about his true BANKAI, Apologies because this is going to be a long yap so if you read cool, if not that’s fine as well, but peep what I’m about to say. First the obvious, Ichigo true bankai is due to his hollow side and his soul reaper side converging and synchronizing, Which once doing bankai show this chain form. But what are chains made for, To shackle someone or something, To ensnare or something. In the case for Ichigo, It used to be his identity, Uncertainty about who is he. But the chains, they aren’t trapping him, they’re surrounding him. Symbolizing acceptance of his identity and who he is, And not denying his heritage nor previous shackles. He uses what he once was afraid of, that he couldn’t control, The things that once bound him, he uses to protect his friends, The blood on the chains symbolizes his blood, His heritage, his dna, He wears it around himself with pride, Could also mean his friends and family as well.
