The difference between generations is how we see "help". Older generations see it as charity, but younger generations see it as necessity. A 50 yr old would feel like he was going out of his way, but a 20 yr old sees it as just a part of his day out. The concept of assisting someone isn't taken so seriously, and so they do it more.

Were genuinely a good generation I think social media shows a highlight reel of our negative traits but 99% of ppl ik irl are rly good well rounded individuals

As a cashier for the general public... it's never someone under the age of 40 who is either having issues or causing issues.. I'm also not entirely sure where this older generation got the thought that we need to bend over backwards and lick our asses to please them, it's always been a "respect your elders" but they treat us like shit so we developed "respect is earned not given" and they wonder why? 🙄

When I worked for a moving company the older couples NEVER tipped but the younger couples pretty much always tipped, bought us lunch if it was a long day/move and/or had us set stuff down outside the truck so they could help

me and my friends were stranded at a gas station 2 hours away from home and none of us had gas money, the old guy we asked said no the college student we asked put $40 in after saying he would give us $20 and then told us to have a blessed night

One time I went paddle boarding in a spring that had a soft natural river current, and I paddled too far with the current and had a paddle back against it, and it was so difficult because any breaks I took would make me start going backwards, my ex-boyfriend and I asked multiple people with boats and nobody would help tell us back even though they were already going that direction. The older generation has a big “for themselves” mentality. My motto is if you have the ability to help/bless somebody then you should.

working with the public, the youngest people are so nice. they will be loud and cracking up with each other but as soon as they walk up to my counter its "yes maam, thank you maam, have a great day maam" im only 25 but I still enjoy the respect from the younger people because the older people are just rude most of the time
