@flywithcaptainjoe7479: 👍🏼POSITIVE OUTCOME👍🏼 A Thai Airways Boeing 777 departing Frankfurt recently experienced a landing gear abnormality shortly after takeoff. While most of the landing gear retracted normally, the left main landing gear remained extended. The crew had to manage the aircraft with the additional drag, remain within the relevant speed limitations, work through the abnormal checklist, and prepare the aircraft for a safe return. Situations like this are a great reminder that airline pilots train for exactly these kinds of events. It may look dramatic from the outside, but inside the cockpit it’s all about staying calm, following procedures, communicating as a crew, and making one safe decision after another.
