If yall really think Naima won then you really need to reevaluate yourself badly. Stop being biased because she politically aligns with your ideology. I say this as a liberal.

Anne, I am so glad that you were given the CHOICE to have your abortion. That’s the whole point, it was your choice during a struggling time of your life. Other woman should be able to have that choice as well. Being pregnant changes you mentally, physiologically, and physically. That is exactly why it is so important for woman to have a choice over what their body goes through.

I feel pro lifers feel that we are pressuring everyone to get abortions but I feel they need to understand it's for the choice of getting one .

Respectfully idk why the left has platformed naima as a debator because she is always logically inconsistent and undereducated on the topics she debates. There are significantly better debaters on the left.

I’m pregnant and I had my abortion appt scheduled the week after I found out. I just couldn’t go through with it, I didn’t have it with me. But not once have I felt that that right should be taken away from others. I believe women who have abortions are the strongest women ever. I was weak and I couldn’t go through with it. Now I’m a miserable pregnant woman. I’m excited to meet my daughter but I absolutely hate being pregnant. But again, that right should not be taken away from everyone

It doesn’t have to do with the worth of the baby it has to do with the rights and autonomy of the mother which are more important what do people not get about that

Isnt this the whole point tho? Her getting to decide what she wants to do with her own body? She was allowed that choice and yet she is still in favor of the government dictating what other women can do with their bodies.

I see her point but her one experience of trying to prove to everyone why she should live does not dismiss EVERY WOMEN WHO WAS ABUSED to have their choice

Her mom was r*ped while married to a man that accepted her as his own daughter well enough that she had no clue till she was told....so her mom had a support system to deal with a traumatic event that resulted in a major life changing decision....not everyone has that support and that is a privilege for her to have. That is not a basis to deprive other women the choice. Children of r*pe are absolutely worth the same as consensual acts children but the choice still need to be in the mother and her ability to deal with the trauma

Even tho I don’t agree with any of their opinions and Naima is a boss… see how when it’s women debating other women, there is a level of respect on both sides and can facilitate a productive conversation. Men could never 🫠

my assumption is she thinks because she was born from one, every other child born of sa deserves to have a life. which I don’t agree with. it’s solely the moms choice on what she chooses to do.

It’s really not about the child not being worthy. The judicial system hardly protects victims of SA and rape. Having a baby that was conceived out of rape gives your rapist the opportunity to have parental rights of your child and be in your life forever.

when can we start holding men accountable for abortions? mandatory vasectomies, reversible when they choose to start their own families. why are women the only ones who are forced to lose bodily autonomy in this debate and why are they the only ones who are ever focused on as responsible for abortions? if people were truly pro-life, they would start focusing on preventing impregnation, and that starts with men! how long does a vasectomy take, under an hour, with few side effects? versus forcing a woman to complete a pregnancy with years of recovery for her body? it's not even comparable and yet nobody ever brings this up?

At the end of the day a women can still have the right to do what they want with their bodies regardless of if someone else thinks it’s wrong or right. If a women is raped and decides to keep the baby that is her choice and vice versa. It doesn’t make her any less or more of a person

I don’t understand what people when when they say she had her own abortion but is denying others the “opportunity” to have theirs. Like what?! My take on this is that she regretted making that decision because she made it during a traumatic phase. Her being honest about it proves that she is not adopting a JUDGEMENTAL approach towards those who are contemplating that choice but an empathetic perspective suggesting that kids born in those conditions CAN BE SUCCESSFUL and have the RIGHT to LIVE!
