Looking to increase your daily fiber intake? These Super Seedy Flax Crackers are the perfect addition to your pantry and stay fresh for up to two months! Find this recipe and more in Help Your Self – The New Rules for Wellness’ co-authored by Meredith Baird and our Founder and CEO, Kat. Save this post for later 👇 Ingredients [makes ~36] 👉2 cups (330 g) flax seeds 👉½ cup (80 g) chia seeds 👉½ cup (75 g) sesame seeds 👉½ cup (70 g) hulled sunflower seeds 👉½ cup (65 g) hulled pumpkin seeds 👉½2 cup (60 g) hemp seeds (optional) 👉¼ cup (15 g) nutritional yeast 👉2 tablespoons ground turmeric 👉1 teaspoon salt 👉1 teaspoon garlic powder 👉1 teaspoon onion powder 👉1 teaspoon ground cumin 👉2 cups (480 ml) water (may need a little more to spread) Recipe: ✨Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). (If you prefer to make the crackers in a dehydrator, see below.) ✨In a medium bowl, mix the flax, chia, sesame, pumpkin, and hemp seeds (if using) and the optional nutritional yeast with the turmeric, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin. Add 2 cups (480 ml) water and stir well to combine. Allow the mixture to sit for about 30 minutes to let the water absorb and the batter to thicken. The flax and chia seeds together will create a gel-like consistency. The batter should have the consistency of playdough and be easy to spread without being runny. If it feels too thick to spread, you can stir in 1⁄2 cup more water, or more if needed. Once the batter has a good consistency, stir in the olive oil. ✨Using an offset spatula, spread the batter onto the parchment-lined baking sheet. in a thin, even layer (about 1/8 inch/3 mm thick). Using a sharp knife, score the batter into 2-inch (5 cm) squares to create about 36 crackers in all. ✨Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the sheet of crackers feels dry and firm to the touch. It will naturally separate from the parchment paper. ✨Remove from the oven and allow the crackers to cool. They will continue to firm up as they cool. Once cool, break them apart at the scored lines. Crackers can be stored for about 1 month in a tightly sealed container #healthyrecipes #healthyfood #seedcrackers #fiber #veganrecipe
