@bayliebelieves: If you are TRULY confident that the choices you are making are the best decisions for you, why do the opinions of other people bother you so much? Hearing a claim as silly and false as “you’re in a cult” doesn’t faze me because I KNOW, without a shadow of a doubt, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is where I belong. Someone disagreeing with me doesn’t suddenly make me question everything I believe. I am a random chick from a small city in Alberta Canada. 😂 Why should MY opinion have that much power over you, ESPECIALLY if you think it’s a ridiculous opinion?? I’m not your friend. I’m not your family. I’m not your bishop. I’m not even someone you know personally. So if you genuinely think my takes are as ridiculous as you claim they are, why let them trigger you? Laugh it off. Say, “I disagree, but whatever girl! Have a good day.” Or… just keep scrolling. 😂 We’re taught in the scriptures that “the wicked take the truth to be hard.” So ask yourselves: Why does this random chick’s opinion bother me so much? Why am I giving a stranger on the internet this much power over my emotions? The world is addicted to outrage. Like why does everyone need to make sure everyone knows they’re offended?? Don’t let the world’s addiction to outrage become your addiction too. Why do the opinions of other people bother you so much? Don’t let the world’s addiction to outrage become your addiction too. You can disagree with someone without being consumed by them. If you’re ACTUALLY confident in your choices, then why are you so quick to take offense when someone has an opinion against it? #thechurchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #mormon #christian #lds #mormonism

The thing is you’re coming out publicly judging people… getting on this app making videos about how you judge their actions to be less than correct. What if you start the cycle of civility by restraining from passing judgment publicly?

So … why are you addressing it and defending yourself? It seems this video is in itself evidence you are doing the exact thing that you want people to be less outraged about?

It’s simple. With additional information understanding and belief need to be addressed and can change.

Absolutely agree! I do worry about younger members who may be unsure, so I do try to debunk and show the faithful side. I have decided only to comment and discuss on pro LDS posts so I don’t boost posts against the church! But always just discuss ideas, never personal attacks!

Pretty sure most people are not offended at "keeping Sabbath day holy" but at the racist teachings (like the belief that black skin is a curse) in the Book of Mormon and the fact that Joseph Smith secretly married children. Do these facts not outrage any of you

Just like you have opinions, everyone else does also! People come from so many backgrounds and cultures, and are allowed to share their opinions on the internet! Just like you are! It doesn’t mean they aren’t confident in their experience or decisions, just like it is the same for you. You’re doing the same thing that you’re saying they are doing!

blind certainty, a close-mindedness that amounts to an imprisonment so total that the prisoner doesn’t even know he’s locked up... If you happen to be friends with someone who was one of Warren Jeffs polygamous wives, would you try and help her out of that way of living? She would certainly say the exact same thing about her faith and her making these decisions as you are about your faith and your decision to be in it.

The unexamined faith is not worth believing. Spend some time investigating with the goal of finding Truth, not confirming evidence. God bless you

Making a response video telling people you're not going to respond, is in a way responding. You don't win by engaging with the haters.

Girl I am gonna be so real with you, a lot of your videos are very mean spirited, both videos targeted at LDS members and non LDS members. If you want people to come to your church or to correct their behavior you gotta be willing to meet them where they’re at like Christ did and not stare down your nose at them. If members of your own church are calling you out it’s probably time to do some self reflecting and not double down defending whatever you did that made them call you out.

Well, I was 100% in for 50 years. Mission, BYU, temple marriage, Bishopric, all the things. At 50 I started a deep dive into the Bible and it made me realize it’s all a man made lie. I then went into the history of the church and all of my “shelf” items and it was so much worse than I thought. I can confidently say that it was a cult. I fought so hard against that conclusion but once I started looking at the facts, it was obvious. No one in a cult thinks they are in a cult until they get out.

The appeal of Mormonism over generic Christianity is organized structure. The structure is laid out within temporal-physical goals of achievement in dogmatic form. This model draws in those who are codependent with structure being imposed externally rather than those who build and maintain an internally self imposed structure. The very nature of codependent structure produces people who don’t think for themselves and never rise above the imposed structure but taught to feel like they have accomplished something. Even after many-many years within this organizational structure people are at the same stagnant level of understanding and spiritual accomplishments they were at many-many years in the past. This is because the organization itself is stagnant in its dogma and its codependent members are just along for the ride in the peer-pressure social environment. What is “known” isn’t even correct but challenging it immediately invokes fear of losing the codependency.
