If I was a juror I would wonder why the prosecution’s expert specializes in children’s mental health and not women’s mental health.

I lost interest in this case the moment I realised Patrick will never be investigated, or charged

If you do a deeper dive on the guy has 21 challenges against him for testifying about things outside of his expertise. The prosecution hired him because he will side with what ever they want him to say

Not sure we watched the same cross. He destroyed Mack and Mack came across as an arrogant man who has no knowledge of women. 4 weeks ends postpartum? Why is our postpartum appt at 6 weeks? A tear is an episiotomy… wtf?!? He clearly missed the early mania signs from a reaction to medicines with Nurse Jollata… you know, when Patrick shut down all conversation of bipolar because he knew better! Ugh… this case is giving me PSYCHOSIS!!!

I’m interested in how Mack was allowed to evaluate LC without a medical license in MA. Reddington brought up that Mack interviewed her with another expert at the same time and I think that was a psychologist so he wouldn’t have a medical license either. Not slighting psychologists at all. Mack is not an expert in post partum and I came away from watching his testimony unsure if he’s ever even encountered a woman before 😂

When was she ever diagnosed with post partum depression or psychosis? She had not been. Just because she claimed it doesn’t mean that’s what her diagnosis was/is

I don’t know, I think it left a few good nuggets for the jury to think about. First and foremost, the 4 weeks being considered postpartum definitely lost at least a few of those women on the jury immediately. I also think knowing that he did his evaluation at the same time as the expert they will see on Monday will not sit well with the jury. I think Red did a good job discrediting both of the CW’s experts before the jury even sees their next expert. Also, the judge clearly getting mad at Dr Mack will probably stick with the jurors.

He went on waaaaay too long IMO. He needed to get to the key bits of info immediately: a) that Dr Mack is not a post partum specialist & b) that his assessment of her & her state of mind was limited & patchy.

So ? why are certain Attorney's coming on here saying he's planting seeds so she can go free and then turn around and bring charges on Patrick.

The fact that he says postpartum psychosis can only happen within the first four weeks is comical, seeing as how new moms do not even see a doctor until six weeks post birth.

It felt almost like he was the last resort to use as a rebuttal witness cos the prosecution couldn’t find anyone else who would take the stand and say in good faith that she was not in psychosis during the event, after they all read the evidence and the specialists conclusions . He came across as if he had no knowledge of pregnant women especially post birth and what our bodies go through and how it can effect us for many months after birth . He made me so mad and I pray I never get a doctor like him to look after my health care in any way

Redington should bring up to Mack that the SSRIs were activating her and causing insomnia which is an indication of bipolar. she was not simply depressed

It was a hot mess yesterday during that testimony . 😂 I would be trying to stay out of the DSM battlefield. The 4 week definition is in the DSM as a qualifier to PPP. There is limited, if not non existent information about PPD and PPP in the DSM. This is what Dr Mack relied on to discount PPP in his “independent”report. I think Reddington made the point earlier ,the DSM has limitations where postpartum issues occur. Mack wants to argue and explain the DSM and it’s creating an issue on cross. It’s Mack’s Bible if you will. I hope we can rely on those 12 female jurors setting the record straight when they deliberate.Woman are very aware these days, and any woman who has had a baby knows postpartum issues don’t magically end at 4 weeks .I came across a 2001 article by Dr Mack, “Think like a Physiatrist, but always be a Doctor.” It is a short read, maybe shorter than some of his answers Friday. But, in the article, Dr Mack himself is making the connection between medical treatment and psychiatric care and the importance of it. An example of this is Thyroid tests that are relied on to detect Graves Disease. Graves can cause severe psychosis and even death. It often goes misdiagnosed for years as anxiety disorders or PTSD. Reddington touched on this blood work not being done by Lindsay’s doctors and physiatrist between October and January 23. I have Graves Disease, and fun fact, undiagnosed woman used to get locked in mental institutions.Treating physicians rely on other tools besides the DSM for PPD and PPP. It is well understood by doctors that postpartum issues last well past the four week period , and it is understood in that field,12 months and sometimes passed that is the norm, rather then the exception. Physical Adverse drug reactions are real and can be life threatening in some cases.Dr Mack, in 2001’s article ,reminds us of that himself. I love your content. I can’t wait to see Red’s cross on Monday.

what do you think of the prosecutions choice to hire an "expert" from Parker Dietz? As an observer, familiar with Andrea Yates, I immediately discounted everything he said.

Mack treated 10 women with psychosis. How many did the defense witnesses treat? What was funny to me is that all trial, Red’s argued that Lindsay didn’t want to take meds. Dr Mack AGREES and Red throws a fit. The DSM5 battle was funny. Dr Mack has the patience of a saint & was like I wrote a dissertation on this book and I’ll teach you how to use it ALL DAY. It has nothing to do with timing. 🙄 Res couldn’t control himself and all he did was argue over stupid stuff. Nothing about Lindsay, except don’t know when she was married? 🤣

There is no huge nugget here. Reddington was interrupting Dr Mack and quite obnoxious. That's all he has to work with especially since the TikToker didn't work out 😂

Judging also by his testimony that she refused to take any medication, he confirms that Patrick forcibly gave her increased doses of the drugs!!!
