@rmntamina: It’s taken me 10 years to stop fighting my body. For years, I treated exhaustion like something I just had to push through. Pain was something I had to ignore. Plans were something I had to keep. I became really good at pretending I was fine. Because there was always something more important. My children. Work. The house. Everyone else. So I kept going. Then I’d crash. And feel guilty for crashing. I think that’s one of the hardest parts of living with chronic illness. Knowing you could probably do it if you pushed hard enough… but knowing exactly what it will cost you afterwards. I’m still learning that resting isn’t giving in. Cancelling plans isn’t letting people down. Doing less doesn’t mean I’m lazy. Sometimes the strongest thing I can do is listen before my body has to scream. It’s taken me 10 years to understand that. And I wish I’d been kinder to myself sooner. #chronicillness #crohnsdisease #invisibleillness
