Yo, that is so smart. I’ve seen people cut the bulb and then attach a pipe or access valve with nitrogen and pressurize it to try and get the existing TXV to work, but this is honestly way smarter time effective and easier.

I mean it works and it’s pretty clever. You also could have gone to a refrigeration supply house and built a TXV. I’ve done that a few times in a pinch.

Or remove the power head of the txv, set a dime in it , put power head back on. And done, temp repair. If not you go back with a new compressor and txv
