It’s always a challenge. I’ve only built a small portion of what I’d thought would be completed on my 72 acre off grid animal sanctuary in California near Sequoia Kings Canyon National Parks. I’m 7 years in and I’m tired. The biggest challenge has been the human condition. Hopefully 2027 the eco village will come to fruition. 🙏🪶🐾🐴🏕️

I am 83 years old with only my social security for income but I am a writer, so far only publishing on Substack, a great long-form way to communicate. I am developing a project to visit, research, interview, possibly film with someone who has that skill, and definitely write about intentional communities, including eco-villages—and possibly obtain a grant to do that. I lived in an organic farm commune in Southern Oregon in the late 1960s and early ‘70s that is still operating today as an eco-village. For almost a year and a half now I have been working on a speculative fiction septology about refugees and survivors of social and economic collapse together developing a network of collective communities as bioregional coherence nodes to help move humanity into a higher dimension of consciousness. This is exactly what I want to do! I went to work on a permaculture farm in Hawaii for over a year to get experience without the $… I’ve wanted to do earthship workshops but the ones around me were pricey. Such an awesome experience doing the academy ❤️
