Man I really wanted to get an ITS as a DD to pile miles on, but I drive a shit ton of long distance. My biggest complaint was the small fuel tank and meh fuel economy. I feel like if 6th gear and the final drive ratio were just a little taller to settle the engine at 80mph down to a more reasonable 2400rpm, cruising fuel economy would be so much better. I feel like this engine makes plenty of torque at 2400rpm to not need a downshift to speed up or climb hills, and if you do the sweet shifter is just a nudge away from putting you smack dab in the meat of the powerband.
