@quadrawellness: Gentle reminder that when it comes to melatonin, more is not always better. A lot of people assume a higher dose will work better, but that is not necessarily how melatonin works. For many people, lower doses may work just as well, and higher doses can sometimes leave you feeling groggy or off the next day. Melatonin is better understood as a timing signal than a knockout sleep supplement. It can be more helpful for things like jet lag, adjusting a sleep schedule, or some circadian rhythm sleep issues. But if you have been dealing with chronic insomnia for months, melatonin usually is not the main treatment. In those cases, it often helps to look at the bigger picture, including sleep habits, sleep anxiety, and the patterns that may be keeping insomnia going. Hi, I’m Tony Ho, MSW, RSW, an insomnia therapist. I help people sleep without trying harder. Save this for later, and if sleep has been hard for a while, follow along for more gentle, evidence-based sleep help. #melatonin #insomniahelp #sleeptips #sleephealth #melatoninbadforyou
