BREAKING: 75-COUNTRY IMMIGRANT VISA BAN STRUCK DOWN 🚨 Major good news for immigrant families. A federal judge in New York has struck down the Trump administration’s blanket suspension of immigrant visa issuance for nationals of 75 countries, covering nearly 40% of the world’s countries. Judge Jeannette A. Vargas ruled that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the State Department exceeded their legal authority by ordering consular officers to refuse immigrant visas based solely on an applicant’s nationality. The court vacated the policy across all 75 countries. It also set aside prior immigrant visa refusals that were based solely on the policy and returned those cases to consular officers for lawful, individualized review. This does not mean every visa will automatically be approved. Applicants must still qualify, and consular officers may still deny visas based on valid legal grounds. This ruling also does not eliminate separate travel restrictions or apply to tourist, student, or other nonimmigrant visas. The administration can appeal and ask a higher court to pause the ruling. At the time this video was recorded, no stay had been issued. Unless that changes, the State Department can no longer use this blanket 75-country policy to refuse immigrant visas. If your immigrant visa was refused or frozen because of this policy, now is the time to have your case reviewed.
