I love when Vampires are actual monsters. Be it animalistic/violent creatures OR sensual, hateful beings with a muted hatred for life even though they’ve lived for so long. Vampires who lean more towards humans always intrigue me, Vampires that are “simple“, the more basic versions. Vampires as symbols of something. I need to consume even more media with them then what I already have ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾

I know everyone thinks Twilight vampires are whatever, but I always get a huge kick out of Edward for this reason. Ppl complain about him left and right, but like, why would he be a normal person? Turned at 17, constantly denying himself blood, can hear everyone’s thoughts, wants to kill the one thing he can’t. He should be worse.

The whole point of the gothic is to allow what has been hidden to be brought into the light usually surrounding these monsters being representations of human fears like foreigners and disease. Dracula is about immigration and foreign fears including diseases and unholy ideas. They’re supposed to be kinda evil like that’s the point.
