@ijeledr: United are looking everywhere for Manchester United’s midfield problem… except the one place they should be looking. 👀 Bruno Fernandes has played alongside Matic & Pogba. Fred & Pogba. Fred & McTominay. Casemiro & Eriksen. Now it’s Tielemans & Santos… Different midfielders. Different combinations. Different seasons. And somehow, every time, the midfield partner becomes the problem. At what point do we ask the uncomfortable question: maybe Bruno is the constant? Bruno rarely stays in his position. He abandons midfield, drifts into the striker’s space, forces teammates out of position and leaves the team structurally exposed. And Ronaldo suffered from this too. Instead of Bruno controlling the midfield and creating the platform for Ronaldo to receive the ball in dangerous areas, he was often occupying the same attacking spaces as him. Then people wondered why Ronaldo wasn’t getting enough service. 🤦‍♂️ Even this preseason: United looked fluid before Bruno returned… then he came back, and suddenly the results disappeared. Maybe United don’t need another midfielder. Maybe they need the courage to admit that the problem has been Bruno all along. Sell him. Rebuild the midfield properly. Give the team balance. Because you cannot keep changing five different midfielders and somehow reach the same conclusion every single time.
