I used the silver bubble wrap for 2 years in windows I don’t need light. Are you planning on taking down those window films in winter? That’s my thought.

Another thing to try for the ac (window unit) specifically shown in the video is put them at reflective insulation on both sides of that if you have some to spare, that could be a layer letting and maybe even holding a lot of heat. Main thing for difference of feeling is usually thermal retention, so if you can find anything that maybe isn't insulating well by itself and you have leftover from the windows, I recommend doing that and ofc making sure to pull and clean the filter from window units and clean the fins of any AC (central or windows) and just make sure they have good airflow.

there is a gap between the window and wood piece that might let in air. get some weather strip foam. I put it around all my ac units. helps.

we did this for our house! we have old single pane windows. so our house gets ROASTED in summer and so that was one of the first things we did immediately we could feel a difference. put it on all our windows and a sliding glass door. and our house stays soooo much cooler.

I came from YouTube and commented this there as well, but this comment section isn't nearly as crowded lol... I'm new here and wondering if you own or rent, because obviously renting limits one's options in these situations. However, if you own I would seriously look into how the walls are insulated. If it's an older home it may have old blown-in insulation that has settled and is no longer insulating the walls. I highly doubt the windows alone are the main issue here though, and insulation is relatively inexpensive (about $25/roll) and can be done rather quickly and easily by just about anyone! If tearing into the walls isn't an option, they make foam insulation sheets that are 4ft by 8ft that one can attach to the walls that will help a fair amount (obviously not as much as in wall insulation though) and they are also relatively inexpensive (about $10/sheet)... I do stuff like this for a living and can help recommend other ways to help with the situation if you would like, feel free to message and ask any kind of questions you may have and I will do my best to help, because nobody should have to live with temps like that INSIDE their home!!

have you double checked the insulation is good in your ceiling? maybe use a temperature gun to see the hot spots and temperature leaks

another quick and cheap way to help, I use 2 portable ac units, is to get some window ac insulating foam and cover with white duct tape
