A helpful lactation consultant shouldn’t be getting “the ick” from bottles that her clients may be using. And definitely shouldn’t be vocalizing that to potential clients, or just moms in general.

Let's normalize using what works for your baby! Not all babies have issues with feeding at the breast and using a "not recommended" bottle! All 3 of my kids used the original player nurses and breastfed with zero issues! my granddaughter uses the nuk bottles(not the new shaped ones) and breastfeed with zero issues.

Let’s not shame mothers by saying their choices give you the “ick”. 🫣 I breastfeed my baby when I’m home and she takes the Philips advent glass bottles when I work. She would get horrible gas and choke with other bottles. It hasn’t affected our latch with breastfeeding so I have no intention of switching what works for us even if it gives you the “ick”.

We were recommended the wide dr browns from the nicu! He has a lip tie and tongue tie and his latch was terrible. I believe this is what contributed to his reflux. He was getting way too much milk way too fast. We switched to lansinoh and he’s doing so much better

I’m seeing avent are best for trapping bubbles but it doesn’t pass the triangle test. But my baby is using glass pigeon and experiencing really bad gas 😓 will it mess up his chances of ever latching to the breast if I do avent? He’s not latching now but still trying. Idk what bottle to try bc pigeon is all I’m using and I’m afraid he’s way too gassy 😔
