I’ve come to terms with this and ended a two-month relationship. It’s not that he doesn’t love me; he simply cannot handle me—for the very same reasons that drew him to me in the first place. I had to accept that what I’m asking for isn’t too much; he just lacks the capacity to meet me.

Fair. But it’s a problem is upstream. Say lack of awareness. And you’ve explained this problem to them 100 times and it still happens. It’s essentially the same. It doesn’t really matter why they’re not giving you what you need.
