@lifespan.expert: What if aging—not cancer—is the biggest disease we need to treat? Dr. David Sinclair points out that even if we eliminated **all cancer today**, average life expectancy would increase by only a few years because other age-related diseases would still occur. His argument is that conditions like Alzheimer's, heart disease, and many others share a common underlying driver: **the biology of aging**. That's why researchers are beginning to test therapies designed to target aging itself—not just individual diseases. **The bigger takeaway:** If scientists can safely slow the aging process, they may be able to delay multiple age-related diseases at the same time. It's an exciting idea, but these therapies are still in the early stages of human research. — **Fair use:** Educational commentary under fair use. **Medical disclaimer:** This content is for educational purposes only and is not medical advice. Age-targeting therapies remain experimental, and more clinical research is needed to determine their safety and effectiveness in humans.

That's a misleading stat. Many people get cancer and die at a very young age. Those people would likely live decades longer because they wouldn't be developing age related diseases for decades

Deceptive stat. The important number is what is the average additional lifespan of people who would have died from cancer

Yes right, this is true only if you don't get cancer. To a person that has cancer it adds tens of years.

In the perspective of eternity, to add two years or a decade, is pointless. Better concentrate to live your short life to the fullest, in the now.
