The people who are getting defensive in this conversation are missing the point. You can enjoy children’s media, but refusing to engage with media made for adults is just…strange. “Kids shows can be complex!” Yes, for a child. Like Avatar does a good job of displaying the cycles of abuse, imperialism and the costs of war! But it’s also made for children. You’re not going to get the same depth of engaging with media with similar themes but meant for adults. It’s the difference between Avatar and say, the Poppy War.
