This is my favorite chess line, however Bc4 allows Nc6 followed by Bg5, immobilizing your kingside knight and really your entire position. The move Bb5+ is better because c6 hinders the opponent's development and you can then play Bc4 without the possibility of Nc6, while blocking the check with a piece will only hamper black's central control.
