2mg Clonazepan with Quivivic 50mg and Mitrazepine 45mg nightly. I have been high functioning throughout the war in Ukraine and have coped with nightly attacks and unpredictable situations admirably. I had CPTSD diagnosed 2021 and cannot imagine life right now without the benzo. It provides a baseline of regulation that seems to work well with Mitrazepine at an activating dose and Quivivic for nightly 8-hour rem sleep. I don’t want anyone messing with what works for me and the stigma around the use of the benzo is just thoroughly unhelpful, imho

I started taking Ambien 5-10 mg almost 20 years ago for a time of extreme insomnia that didn’t respond to anything else. I also have myoclonic epilepsy that gets worse when I don’t sleep. I have tried every other sleep med and supplement and it still works so I stayed on it. I am worried though if I ever move or my doctor retires that someone would take me off. It gets scary to think about because the time I had the insomnia was so bad and scary.

I’ve been taking Xanax for a little over 10 years ever since I lost my 20 year-old son. I have never asked for an increase. I have never run out of my medicine. You can’t judge everybody the same. Everyone situation is different.

Not every person is the same. I was the person who had an extremely negative experience on a prescribed benzo taken exactly as directed. My hat is off to the people with no issues. I lost 22 months of my life to benzo wd. Those drugs are poison for my particular body.

I get 5 pills of benzo for acute panic per month for years. Often, I don’t use all 5. It’s very safe and well studied when used prudently.

Unfortunately, the fear of benzos has led Psychiatric doctors or Primary's to pull patients off who have been on them for more than 6months either cold turkey or a rapid taper which is just negligent. There is woeful education to psychiatrists on the taper process for benzos and the risk or protracted withdrawal. Both the Ashton Manual and more recently the Maudsley De-Prescibing Guidelines provide a great guidelines for tapering.

I think we need to consider the fact that many psych meds can cause physical and psychological dependence. Some SSRIs and gabapentin, as two examples.

I take clonazepam for severe OCD that can't be treated with antidepressants due to rapid cycling bipolar with psychotic features and catatonia. I wish I didn't need them but I've never had to increase my dosage and nothing else had worked

I've been on klonipin as I've shared since I was 19. I'm 46 now. I take 1mg in the a.m. and that's it. My GAD is super bad I've been worrying since I was a little kid. the benzo does allow me to function. I would like to know are there options for GAD besides benzos? like no medicine I've tried controls that incessant worrying which then turns to panic. then i get so nervous it affects my stomach. so can you talk of psychiatric conditions besides those where long term use benefit outweighs the risk situation. I'm bipolar as well but that's very much controlled except my crazy worrying. and don't say CBT I did that since I was 24 and here I am.

Benzos make you drowsy and therefore makes you a fall risk.Trazodone makes you drowsy but not a fall risk. Make it make sense.Benzos have been unfairly demonized. I take a low dose klonopin to sleep, I’ve tried half dozen other meds that make me a zombie the next day or give me horrible nightmares. Please stop this harmful crusade.

The hardest choice I ever made was agree to long term use of clonazepam for my severely autistic son. He developed a seizure disorder along with a destabilized nervous system. He was diagnosed by a neurodevelopmental psychiatrist.
