Depends on the type of Asian. The Asians yall only think of are the East Asians like Chinese, Koreans, and Japanese. The Southeast Asians like Cambodians, Lao, Viet, Hmong etc usually grow up around Black and Hispanic people.

Among the Asian Americans I feel like Indians, Pakistanis and Filipinos tend to have a more diverse friend group. Well, in my experience considering my friend groups usually consist of those (I'm also Filipino).

As someone who grew up in Queens with a ton of Asian friends…half of the Asian community really does only like to cozy up to white folks. But the other half are the extreme opposite (the friends I had).

i grew up in Howard County Maryland which is claimed to have the largest Korean diaspora (i have no clue if that's actually true though) outside of the country itself. in my experience that specific Korean community was VERY insular.
