Well I’m glad I don’t live in Denmark 💁♂️😂 I’m 25 next month and have no plans to get married any time soon 🤟🏻😜 only dated once and it ended badly so I’m in no rush to do it again till the right person comes 🤣 marriage is overrated anyways 💁♂️

It’s a thing in Jylland and they are eagerly trying to make it a thing everywhere in Denmark. I only heard about it because I had a colleague from Jylland and she wanted to do that to me, but I refused 😅

The tradition dates back hundreds of years. Back then young men and some women would travel the world trading in spices. And they would be so caught up in their travels that they forgot about getting married. So when they turned 30 they would be called “Pebbersvende” for the men, and the women were “pebermøer”.

It's a tradition from the old times. The men that weren't married by 25 were usually spice salesmen and we're never staying in one place for long, so they didn't get married. No clue if that story is actually true
