I think Dan genuinely didn’t realize how much he did for Blair. This scene literally shows that he never really viewed those things he did for Blair as sacrifices. He loved her without keeping score. He helped her get back with Chuck even while he was in love with her, he even helped Louis write his wedding vows for Blair while loving her himself. He constantly put Blair’s happiness before his own, and that’s why I think there was a part of Dan that felt like he wasn’t “good enough” for her. He seemed to underestimate his own importance to her. His love for Blair was genuinely selfless in a way people overlook.

blair and dan should have ended up together, their chemistry was undeniable. they had both emotional and physical chemistry then he literally wrote a book about her and her wedding vowels. he cared about her more than anyone, and when blair was with dan, she was a different person could genuinely be herself. chuck and blair was toxic he is a grapist, he punched glass which cut her, he sabotaged all her relationships, etc. dair should have been endgame the writers were cowards because they were supposed to be endgame but they caved into fan pressure

i loved Dair, Dan was more relaxed and genuine, as well as Blair. she was truly herself, but kinder. I loved them together, but I do feel like the differences in their worlds mattered more than their connection. it kind of made their compatibility incompatible

I will forever hate the season 6 fan service it made no sense. Blair had so much development and was the best version of herself around Dan, not her toxic ex (chuck) or her toxic bsf (serena). Dan brought out her most real and vulnerable side just for all of that to be thrown out and they regressed her back to the surface level toxic blair so they wouldn't lose the chair fans. Even the actors were team dair like come on.
