Catapult four does not have a JBD on the Forrestal-class carriers. Not enough room. You must hold the F-14 short before launching off Catapult 4. Furthermore, all airplanes behind the JBD must be fore and aft behind thr JBD. If not, this will happen. How do I know? I was in a yellow shirt on the Indy and transferred before this happened. Blast behind any aircraft on deck is treacherous, but F14s are no joke. Anything behind it during launch without a JBD is insane. 😳

Unmmm why didn’t launch control raise the blast barrier ruined a f14 2 pilots in the drink and now they gotta rescue them tow the f14 out of the way and clear the landing zone. Captain gonna take reaming over this cluster

There is a mobile crane that can be used to lift it back onto deck as long as it didn’t fall over

Bro, that happened to me in the six pack with an F-18. Dude that was supposed me training me led us right into the exhaust and we went flying. I was able to catch myself of another birds wing on the elevator before going over. I had 0 control of what was happening, that was pretty scary at time.
