I did first two years at a cc which is free. Waited till 24 to transfer so fafsa would be based only on my income(not much compared to my parents) and fafsa + Ca financial aid paid for my next 2 years plus enough for books. Also took as many Clep exams as possible that I knew I would pass to get more college credits. Instead of going to my dream school which was way more expensive I settled for the cheaper school that gave the most aid. There are plenty of ways to finesse the system they created for the rich.

Thank you for the suggestions of going to cc, I already have a lot of jobs so I just don’t have much time and I don’t want my grades to just slip. My goal is to be a flight attendant but also I love the jobs I currently have and will continue them 😍💕

im not even trying to be an asshole but why not take a bunch of AP/DC classes in highschool? that cut off 2 years of uni and then go to CC as well if you need more classes (intro courses for example) to cut cost? this economy is rough. a degree wont guarantee a job but its lowkey become the bare minimum to have a basic income. theres also merit scholarships in highschool AND uni, this is a big risk girl think wisely. theres other options but you should think twice about having a degree to fall on if stuff doesnt work out

Go to community for the 1st 2 years for the basics then finish at a state school. Should be able to get a degree in less than 30k. Work part time or full time if possible. That’s what me and my fiancé did. College isn’t for fun. It’s for a degree.

My dad told me never to take out a student loan. you can get a car loan, if money gets tight, sell the car. if you take out a student loan and money gets tight and you have to drop out, you can’t sell your brain. you are stuck with it. This is why i chose a cheaper college and saved up my money and then went to college. But it’s okay and now you know! wish you the best bb❤️

The “degree you will never use” rhetoric is the biggest lie. The knowledge you acquire transfers to everyday. One of the main functions of higher education was for society to be able to become educated to create a stronger democracy. That’s why the head of the department of transportation does not want his daughter going to Harvard and risk being converted into a “liberal”. The less educated we are the easier, the easier we are to be manipulated and controlled.
