I’ve been playing a LONG time, and I’ve seen plenty of BS like that. They’ll get a reputation and eventually teams will shy away from picking them up. As they move up in leagues, players won’t put up with it.

My fav was we were playing a team and one of the opposing players scored on his own goalie (like a full clapper in the wrong direction) and his team mate punched him. A fight broke out on their bench. We asked the ref and he said, well there really isn’t’t a penalty for fighting your own teammate.

I'm so glad I play in a league that are rink puts on called invite League and only the chillest but also skilled players play in. everyone is hand-picked by the hockey director so no ringers and all the teams are balanced

I’m at my beer league game for 3 reason. Get some exercise other than the gym, have fun, and take my mind off of things. A majority of people who are dicks when playing any recreational sport don’t have much going on in life and they’re pissed about it so they gotta take it out on others

I’ve never started fight, but I have ashamedly slammed my stick. While I haven’t yelled directly at anyone, I have yelled, “can I get some defense” after 6-10 breakaways. But I try to apologize after the game.
