This isn't new. This is America. Black defendants claiming self-defense are convicted at far higher rates than white defendants making the exact same claim under the exact same laws. A white person who kills a Black person is far more likely to be ruled "justified" than a Black person who kills a white person under that same self-defense claim. This country was built to protect white violence and punish Black survival. That's not a side effect — it's the design. Karmelo defended his life. America answered with 35 years and a locked door.
