So it is normal that you do have to shower before getting into a pool a lot of holes don’t enforce it, but it keeps the pool clean by having people rinse off before getting in

never been to a YMCA? it’s so standard to shower first. and it’s awesome that adequate resources are being allocated now, instead of waiting for something to happen then reacting.

I’m not going to lie , I’m 50/50. she’s correct & I was born & raised here & she hit a lot of key points. She’s definitely NOT lying but not every pool in NYC is like this. I actually take my daughter to the nicer parks outside of my neighborhood because it’s either poorly maintained or the children/parents do too much. I’m not saying everyone’s like this but outside of the bad there’s so much better! Yall judging her because of her skin complexion knowing she’s being honest about a few things…

Born and raised here ( EAST HARLEM) we have indoors pool here since the 80’s and people like me have pool in our building living downtown

Never in 1 million years would I go into a public pool or any pool for that matter with a bunch of people that I do not know. It’s like taking a bath and other people’s butt juices, no thank you

I’ve always had to “shower” before getting in a city/nyc pool. Central Park has had to add more rules though. My local city pool always had us locked our stuff and you couldn’t take anything with you since I was a kid. It’s just the way it is.
