@courthelicopter: Hospital Ordered To Pay 525,000 For Giving Patient’s Samples To a Different Lab Without Her Consent #courthelicopternews #legal #consentlaws #compensation #courts
it's a catch 22 situation. Medics would just draw the sample and leave you and your family the choice to where you want it analysed. You return with results from somewhere else they hit you with their ISO SOPS and there goes the window for intervention and resources

it is faster when the hospital sents the samples than when the patient takes them there individually, also, hospitals have alliances which may even lower the charges coz they drop a bulk of samples. whatever you guys are doing in the name law is harming the patients more than you think. we know the data is protected, and no one intents to disclose anyone's health information.

Hii ni ujinga coz most hospitals use coded samples without using names. This ensures objective processing e. g make objective analysis of sample 234a original references remain with the parent hospital

It is considerably more efficient when hospitals coordinate the submission of samples rather than requiring individual patients to deliver them separately. Hospitals also often have established partnerships with laboratories, allowing them to negotiate more favourable rates by submitting samples in larger volumes.
Whatever measures are being introduced in the name of compliance with the law may, in practice, be placing an unnecessary burden on patients and causing more harm than intended. We fully appreciate that health information is confidential and must be protected, and there is no intention to compromise patient privacy or disclose anyone’s medical information. The concern is simply that the current approach may be creating unnecessary delays, costs, and inconvenience for the very patients the system is meant to serve.
