acotar is definitely an easier entry because there's only 4.5 books out. for spice, it definitely ramps up with every book, but imo it's fantasy first then spice second. the shadowhunter chronicles is 5 series deep with 18 main books including the upcoming release. i've only read the infernal devices, and it's sooo good, but i haven't continued because the amount of books is daunting af.

Depends on what you want to read lol I love both but they’re very different. I would say Shadowhunters if you don’t like spice at all. I will say Mortal Instruments reads very YA but the other series in the universe is more mature
