Café Kör A cosy Hungarian restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and traditional food. We loved how warm and authentic the whole experience felt. 2. The Duchess One of our favourite rooftop finds in the city. Hidden above Matild Palace, it has beautiful views across Budapest and an intimate atmosphere. 3. National Athletics Centre Probably one of the most unexpected places on this list. We loved coming here for a run and staying active during our trip, with plenty of space and views along the Danube. 4. Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library You’d never expect to find rooms like this inside a public library. Ornate ceilings, chandeliers and grand reading rooms make it feel more like a palace than somewhere you’d come to study. 5. Vajdahunyad Castle One of Budapest’s most underrated landmarks. We loved having the castle, lake and surrounding park all in one place, making it such a beautiful area to explore. Budapest has so much more to see and do.
