I hear ya. As a kid, I shit my pants too. Nobody in my family understood and tried to shame me into stopping. It wasn’t until I was 11 that they found out I had an intestinal infection since I was born. Thats when I got my colostomy after 3 months in the hospital and 3 operations later

So true. If I broke a leg and had a cast they would understand. But no outwardly symptoms and no one gets it. Thank you for speaking up. Everything you say is so true.

I have not been dealing with my stoma as long as you, just 5 years. One of my complaints is when you refuse a certain food because it will effect your stomach and output. The " Oh just a bit won't hurt you" .... yes it does and I feel guilty for insisting on saying no.

so close to what I went through for over 30 year , I was nearly dead when I got my ileostomy and it was like being reborn , my only regret was that I waited so long before I had a sub total colectomy, wish I had it way earlier , im old now 66 ,but im living life to the fullest , you are a great inspiration to our community and especially to young people
