A Floresta Amazônica nunca foi explorada 100%, então, não temos como afirmar o que ainda existe ou não, além de ter espécimes que nem foram catalogadas ainda.

Lendas indígenas sobreviveram por muitos anos, acredito eu que esses indígenas do passado a uns 1000 ou 1500 anos atrás poderiam sim ter visto alguma sobrevivente da titanoboa ou algum corpo em putrefação da titanoboa, e daí surgiu a lenda, mas nós sabemos que a lendas sofrem alterações com o passar dos anos, por isso nunca saberemos a verdade.
