Kualitas udara di Kota Batam, Kepulauan Riau, dilaporkan masuk kategori Tidak Sehat pada Senin (5/10/2026). Udara kabur akibat sebaran asap kebakaran hutan dan lahan (karhutla) kiriman menyelimuti langit Batam sejak pagi hari. Berdasarkan data pemantauan real-time, Indeks Kualitas Udara (AQI) Batam berada di kisaran 110–117 AQI. Polutan utama adalah partikel halus PM2.5 dengan konsentrasi mencapai 40–67,6 µg/m³, yang melampaui ambang batas aman harian WHO. BMKG Kelas I Hang Nadim Batam juga memperingatkan sebaran asap berpotensi bertahan hingga malam hari akibat minimnya pertumbuhan awan hujan. Kondisi tersebut mulai dikeluhkan warga, terutama karena aroma bakaran yang menyengat dan iritasi ringan pada tenggorokan.
