i genuinely feel so heartless when something bad happens to others, like, i try my best to comfort and feel sympathetic, but like i don’t really feel anything .. so ive just masked that apathy with just saying: “sorry im not good at comforting” or give advice hahaha

LITERALLYYYY when I had a terrible falling out with my friend, he told me I was a psychopath and a bad person and that I probably wanted to hurt people because of my lack of empathy. I trusted him with that information and he used it against me :/

if it helps i’ve found that most people who are aware enough to recognise they don’t have proper emotion receptors are usually the most likely to offer comfort when they realise they need to show it (most people with working receptors don’t even get that )

I hate that I can’t understand people’s emotions like I try so hard. Best comparison is being blind, you learn about the names of the colors, what they usually mean, but you don’t see them, never understand them. I know what those emotions are and what they mean but I just can’t bring myself to comprehend them 😂😂
