My brother did 4 tours over in the early 2000’s. I still remember the late night calls from him wanting to talk with everyone before going into a “Red zone” where he said they have lost a lot of good men. My brother was a hell N’ coming up. Always keeping my parents on there toes... After the tours he was changed completely .I’m guessing after seeing his close buddies taken and the dark side of war in general . He was a more loving and caring person and a person I admired. I did not know the weight he carried daily though from it until sitting around a fire one night followed by a whiskey bottle making its way around. I ended up lending him an ear .that night brought us closer and I did not bring it up again . That made me try to be as supportive as I could to him on the daily. He did make it home , but died in a car wreck a few years later that I was supposed to be with leaving behind a 5 year old son . I love watching clips like this it reminds me of him and the price our troops pay for freedom on our behalf . The ones that make it back home to us leave a piece of them on the battlefield forever. ❤️

people will never know of the horrors we went threw in fallujah. I was there in 04 2nd deployment. I'm not afraid of anyone or any thing regardless of the situation, but this place and the things that happened in there change me. I'll never forget

Was there for first assault on fallujah got my first Purple Heart on march 26 2004 first wounded of current deployment was with 1/5 weapons company and second Purple Heart in Ramadi

I was in boot camp with Cody. He was the Guide of our platoon. He was just a skinny little kid back then. Glad he is doing well
