@erica354798: I published my children’s book two weeks ago and I’m finally feeling relieved that it’s finished. 💜 It was really tough to write about my angel sister and me cause this book is based on our true story. I created this book so other deaf children won’t feel alone and can see how lucky they are to have other deaf kids around them. Growing up, I was only around my deaf sister at home. I didn’t go to a deaf school but I also had childhood deaf friends from when I attended a deaf preschool until 2nd grade, after which I switched to a hearing school with an interpreter. Some hearing kids love learning sign language to be my friends and I truly appreciate that, but it’s not the same as being part of the Deaf community. Sometimes, we Deaf people can feel left out when we’re surrounded by hearing people. That’s why this book means so much to me.
