I never thought that I was athletic at anything until I discovered skating in my 20s. In school, I was the bookish one, the slowest one and my only hope was not to be picked last for a team. Nothing like your challenges, but enough to write myself off for sports. My accomplishments were not spectacular, but I learned to jump and spin and most of all I loved footwork. I learned the value of figures .But most of all I was blessed to have Yosemite Valley as my home rink outdoors and a wonderful volunteer skating program.
