@athletistry: You probably haven't thought about this part of the variation, but when you run from the downstage corner up to the back to do the next diagonal, if all you're focusing on is what's about to come next, then you're losing your connection with the audience. As we run from the front to the back, we have to maintain connection for as long as possible, taking our audience with us. This is to ensure that when we get to the back, we've maintained a rapport with the people watching us so that they're still interested in what we're about to do next. Taking the audience with us, getting to the back quickly, re-presenting ourselves to them, and then showing our readiness to do what we're going to do next. This will totally enhance your performance. It will connect you better with your audience, and it will allow you to have a little bit of a recovery time before you do your next difficult skill. If you want to learn more about these things, the simplicity of how to improve your dancing with just the right input at the right time, go ahead and click the link in my bio to join The Athletistry Project, where I teach all of this and more.
