You don’t have to change your rotors every time at maximum unless they are extremely thin or warped. The most you will ever have to do is maybe have them turned and shave it down a little bit.

He is right with context: need to measure the rotor thickness because they will wear after so much usage and if they happen to get warped they need to go..

Back in the old days they resurfaced rotors.

You should measure the thickness of the rotor. As long as it has not been wore down below the safe limit, you are okay. If grooved you can always have it resurfaced.

My pops told me only if it’s grooved or warped. Take 100 grit and score it a little.

technically nonu dont have to change them every time you change the pads.. but u need to make sure they have a good thickness not just the groves.. disk also wear like your pads

At least turn them if they’re within spec of turning but pad slap is not recommended. 40 year mechanic here
