Jesus said accept him and repent. Repent literally means to return from sin. I believe that is works- to correct course of one's self is works and by doing so it positively affects people around them. That is works. Not by works alone..

Another excellent explanation. Thank you. Wondering if those false teachers are aware of what they teach is incorrect. Is it ignorance, or they have been taught badly and just continue bad theology or is it on purpose, undermining the true Gospel?!

to believe is to change directions in one's life. for once christ enters the heart change will happen. christ jesus came to be lifted up that he might draw all men unto him. through his sacrifice we see his love and it draws us to him in love. when we love him we will follow his very words he spoke " if you love me keep my commandments" we are not saved by keeping them but in keeping them we show we are his very children. in fact walking in obedience to his law is how the entire universe knows which side we are on. the last chapter of revelations says blessed.Are they that keep the commandments of god, For they shall have right to the tree of life. the tree of life is jesus himself. we cannot have one foot in sin and one foot at the cross. we are told "choose ye this day whom ye will serve" to serve anyone you must do their will not your own. this is literally what service means. Paul went even further saying he was a slave to christ. a slave is even more conscious of his behavior for he knows the power of his master. when jesus met paul on the road to damascus, just by appearing to him, he showed paul that he had the power over death. when will man wake up to the fact that God is holy and his law is so important that the transgression of it is death? when will you decide to make a commitment to follow him with all your heart soul and mind? The God of the universe did not allow his son to be sacrificed that men may sin with impunity. he allowed him to die that he may be lifted up that we might see his love for humanity and fall at his feet in repentance, and change our direction. throughout the entire bible god was seeking for a people who would obey him. time and time again.He shows us that disobedience to his natural law Which is the natural order of the universe Brings our own destruction. his law is the very structure of love, which is his character. how arrogant of man to think that because he gave his son that he is willing to change his character and say it doesn't matter. the devil told the same lie in the garden of eden to eve.

First of all , you have to understand what the words mean and what the king james bible , how it's written , because they're using words , we don't use anymore. BELIEVETH ON ME. On isn't it in. And BELIEVETH it isn't just to believe. Believe it means you believe and you show your actions of what you believe that means faith because faith takes works. James 2:26 If you have no works , just like if the body doesn't have a spirit , it can't move. If you don't have any works, you have no faith.And faith is the only way we can receive grace, which is Jesus and that's what saves us, not our belief, not our faith.But we must establish those works.The good works of Jesus Christ in our life.Then we have the ability through those works of faith to receive that grace that saves us. Because if you think you're belief in Jesus saves you , then you're the one saving yourself and not jesus. Because satan believes Angie, Jesus, but he does not believe it on and on.Is your taking an agreeing to do the same thing?It's called the contract on the foundation , which is jesus christ

so a person can 100% believe in Jesus not follow him but just believe in him and be saved and then they can generally be a terrible person in everyday life but because they believe in Jesus 100%, they are saved? following Jesus is doing works

I never said works buys your salvation.. I said repentance is necessary and repentance is self work that affects others around us. Who defines what works is? Jesus said believe in me/accept me and repent. Turn back from sin..

getting saved "is"instant.. It's about staying saved- repentance and following through. That is a process throughout life that take effort/work on one's self. People can turn away from God and lose salvation.. If you are talking about works for salvation before gaining salvation by accepting/ believing in Jesus I totally agree -but why would anyone want to work for salvation prior to believing? Why would they even believe in any salvation without believing in Jesus? That just shouts someone thinks they're better than others for no reason but pride..

Paul wrote Jesus and 10 commandments ..is the truth and the way to heaven ..because we should live without sin , and pray and forgive ..faith is a large part and major part ..I've seen miracles happen in a blink of an eye ..I've heard of many miracles appear and God spoke to me one time after a prayer and it took 3 weeks for an answer..he told me to give my son half my liver and all would be well ..it went so well , he was miracke child of the year in 2000 at Eggleston children's hospital ..this was after 2 yrs of chemo for cancer..he is in his 30s an no medication ..God gave us a miracle..he is good and his word is better than good ..praise him and have faith beyond yourselves can imagine and he will come to you

Hi Tom, I Love how you break it down in a very simple and understandable way. The Gospel is so simple even a young child can understand it. Jesus made the Gospel as simple as He could so everyone could easily understand it. But yet, people are always adding to the Gospel and perverting the Gospel and Complicating the Gospel. And I believe if a Person is truly filled with the Holy Spirit they will be led into all truth by the Holy Spirit and they will know and understand the true Gospel. Because the Holy Spirits number 1 most important job is to make sure we know and understand the Gospel because that is our foundation and if our foundation is off then everything goes sideways.
