Scruffy is currently non-weight-bearing on her left front leg and has no deep pain sensation in her left front paw. The vet team believes this is consistent with traumatic brachial plexus neuritis, likely from an avulsion injury. There were no obvious changes on her X-rays, but she needs further diagnostic evaluation to determine whether the nerve injury can recover or if amputation will ultimately be necessary. She also has a retained baby canine tooth and was noted to be depressed and mildly dehydrated at her exam. DAS provided pain medication and fluids, but Scruffy needs continued vet care beyond what the shelter can provide. Despite everything she’s dealing with, this tiny girl is still looking for love. ❤️ Scruffy has been seen wagging her tail and seeking affection. She needs someone financially capable of taking on her medical care, whether that’s a foster and rescue or adopter. Scruffy is barely more than a puppy.
