@doge_engineer: Maybe you’d finally start living according to your own values instead of everyone else’s expectations. You’d stop explaining every decision. Stop defending every ambition. Stop shrinking an idea because someone else doesn’t understand it yet. Because the truth is, not everyone will understand your vision. And they don’t have to. Some people judge the beginning of something because they can’t see the destination. Others will only believe in the idea after you’ve already proven it. If you spend your entire life waiting for universal approval, you may never build anything truly original. That doesn’t mean ignoring criticism. Quite the opposite. Good criticism can save you years. But there’s a difference between listening to criticism and needing everyone to agree with you. One makes you smarter. The other makes you dependent. Sometimes you have to be willing to say: “I hear you. I understand why you disagree. I’m still going to do it.” That’s where conviction begins. Because the goal isn’t to be understood by everyone. It’s to understand yourself well enough to know what you’re willing to stand for when nobody else sees it yet. Maybe that’s freedom. Not making everyone understand your choices… But no longer needing them to.
