I’ve always told my children to call me no matter what, I will be irritated for being woke up since I have insomnia lol but will never make it about the call. My son has called me numerous times and I was always there, I have even picked up kids that I worked with who didn’t have anyone else. They know she’s cranky cause she was woken up, not from coming to me 😂 they know I’m their safe place and will always be no matter how old they get

Sad to say my cousins can’t do that, happy to say my cousins know they can call me and there won’t even be a talk coz it’s not my job to parent them iv done that long enough I just make sure they are safe I let them do the dumb teenage stuff and tell me about it and I will never encourage it but I won’t tell them not to do it and that’s why they tell me everything and trust that they can call me without the fear il go crazy, they do also know I will call their big sister for back up if the thing is really dangerous for example the 13yo went out in a storm when she was supposed to be staying at her friends and turned her location off she told me nd I called her sister nd then I told her that I did and told her the storm was on a threat to life warning busses where getting cancelled and her mum had been drinking coz it was a Friday so couldn’t drive luckily her sisters bf drove so they went to get her, and even tho I snitched in that situation she still tells me when she’s doing stuff like that

Well shit I’m crying too 🤣 my mom will forever be the one I call. I’ve only called her once in an emergency. I was an hour away, she had told me I was grounded a couple hours before (out WAY past curfew, mental health crisis with a friend) but I couldn’t walk, I’d been out since like 7 pm and was walking for 5 hours. She got me in the middle of the night. She didn’t mention the grounding until the next day.

I’ve always told our kids they can call me at any time day or night and I will come. My parents did it and I only ever called once for them. So far our oldest is almost 20 and has not called yet.
