My daughter will be 5 next month. I’m currently mourning who she used to be and dreaming of you who she will become. This is the hardest part of motherhood that will never end. I miss those 3 days in the hospital where it was just us, no outside world, completely oblivious to what’s to come, just me and my girl in a moment that felt like an eternity. Memorizing her smell and face. Kissing every single little finger one by one. Constantly repeating “you’re mine”, “mommy loves you”. It really was just me and her. Now I have to watch her walk into a classroom and hope everyone loves just as much as I do. I just want one more day in that hospital where it was just me and her, just one more day. And here I am pregnant again for the last time already
